Bourbon BBQ Chipotle and Sweet Chili Mustard Wings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken wings
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Celery sticks and chopped carrots for serving
  • Cream cheese for dipping

  • Amazon Sweet Chili Mustard Sauce
  • Soy Sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • Buttermilk
  • Amazon Mango Pineapple Sauce

Instructions

  1. Place chicken wings in a bowl. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Mix well to evenly coat the wings.
  2. Pour milk and lemon juice over the seasoned wings. Allow the wings to marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour. 
  3. In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to create a dry coating for the wings.
  4. Remove the wings from the mixture, allowing excess liquid to drip off.  Coat them with the dry ingredient mixture.
  5. In a deep skillet or frying pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated wings to the hot oil and fry for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  7. To serve, drizzle the wings with your favorite hot sauce and arrange them on a platter. Serve with celery sticks, chopped carrots, and a bowl of cream cheese for dipping.
